Privacy Policy
Effective September 3, 2026 • Plain-English privacy information for TX Builder Viewer and its project website.
No hidden TX telemetry
TX Builder Viewer is a third-party Second Life viewer, which means the software necessarily handles a great deal of Second Life information while it runs. TX Gear does not use that access to build a user profile or collect your Second Life activity.
1. Information handled by the viewer
Normal Second Life operation requires the viewer to handle account identity, world data, inventory information, chat and IMs, nearby avatars and objects, payments, settings, cached assets, and other information needed to provide the viewer experience. That information is used by the viewer locally and/or communicated to Linden Lab and other services required for the feature being used.
TX Builder Viewer’s tray notifications and quick-reply features are designed to operate locally. A direct IM or payment notification does not create a separate TX Gear copy of that event.
2. Information sent to TX Gear
The viewer may contact TX-hosted web services for viewer news, project information, or similar viewer-specific web content. Like any normal web request, these connections may result in standard server-log information such as:
- public IP address;
- date and time of the request;
- requested URL or resource;
- browser/viewer user-agent information; and
- ordinary HTTP diagnostic information.
TX Builder Viewer does not include a behavioral analytics, advertising, or device-fingerprinting system added by TX Gear.
3. Website and download information
The TX Builder Viewer website does not include advertising trackers or behavioral analytics code. The site’s download counter stores a single aggregate download number. The counter itself does not store a list of who downloaded the viewer.
The web server or hosting software may independently maintain ordinary access/error logs containing information such as IP address, timestamp, requested page, and user agent. Those logs exist for normal hosting, security, and troubleshooting purposes and are not a TX Builder Viewer behavioral profile.
4. Information stored on your computer
Like other Second Life viewers, TX Builder Viewer can store settings, caches, logs, account preferences, and other viewer data locally on your computer. If you choose features such as remembered credentials or auto-login, the viewer may retain the information needed for those features locally using the viewer’s normal credential-storage mechanisms.
Removing TX Builder Viewer or clearing its local settings/cache affects locally stored viewer data; it does not delete information held independently by Linden Lab.
5. Linden Lab and other third parties
Your Second Life account and world connection are provided by Linden Lab. Information sent to Linden Lab as part of using Second Life is governed by Linden Lab’s policies, not this TX Gear policy. You can review Linden Lab’s Privacy Policy.
If you open external websites, media, or services through viewer features, those third parties may receive information according to their own privacy practices.
6. Selling or sharing data
TX Gear does not sell TX Builder Viewer user data. TX Gear does not intentionally collect private Second Life communications or inventory data for advertising, marketing profiles, or resale.
7. Changes to this policy
If TX Builder Viewer later adds a feature that materially changes what information is sent to TX Gear, this policy should be updated to describe that change. The effective date at the top of this page shows the version of the policy currently posted.
8. Questions
Questions about TX Builder Viewer privacy or data handling can be sent to support@tx-web.com.
